(In the realm called Here and Now)에서 프리드릭 니체와 지그문트 프로이드를 만나 젝의 개종과 그들의 철학과 영적경험을 주제로한 대화를 통해서 주님의 섭리에 의해 모르는 사이에 루이스가 즐겁게 사역(使役)을 하게된다는 환상적 소설입니다.

After some thgought about these three notables in the history of philosophy, psychology and Christianity, I made this book. Wishing you enjoy the book if you have a chance to read.

Title of the book: The Last Journey of Jack Lewis
Author: Chang-Wuk Kang
This book is a masterful miniature anthology of religion, philosophy
and psychology, its source being three well-known great thinkers, CS
Lewis, Friedrich Nietzsche and Sigmund Freud. Figuratively speaking,
it is a "three huge books bound only in 219 pages" of thought
provoking conversations! How did the author do that?
Set on a creative imaginary after-life stage, the author brilliantly
manages to describe the polemic volleys exchanged among the three
thinkers. The Archangel who steps in and out of the debate is an
extension of the author, a well-seasoned psychiatrist, who skillfully
weaves this unique novel-essay with his erudite understanding of those
three thinkers' main thoughts that influenced the 20th century's world
denizens.
While absorbed in reading this book, the readers may find themselves
consulting their reference literature, as I did, in order to get
through the many rooms of this compact treasure-house filled with
thought provoking summaries of complex contents.
Anyone interested in topics involving religion, philosophy and
psychology will find gems in every page of this book. The author's
open-minded scholarly stance will let you review and enrich your
thoughts from distinctly different view points of three sages. An
excellent work!  (Submitted to Goodreads by Han Soo Lee on March 2,

Dear Oog:

I am so happy to receive your autographed hard copy of "The last journey of Jack Lewis."
As you know I already had it into my kindle fire and was reading it during my long flight to Turkey, but it certainly feels closer to heart holding the book in my hand.
My heartfelt congratulations again. I cannot describe this overwhelming delight felt in my heart reading this book. While I am definitely unqualified to make any sensible commentary about the book (due to my lack of knowledge in the field), I am deeply moved by your passion so apparent in dealing with the theme. Your love for Jack Lewis is so pure and deep, and your wish to rescue Nietzsche and Freud so ardent. While the book takes the form of novel, your desire to bring redemption to these two people bespeak your love for them. It feels like I am seeing so much of you in the persona of C.S.Lewis.

I must also confess that from reading the book I was totally amazed with the depth of knowledge you displayed in so many areas, philosophy, religion and humanity in general. It definitely deserves careful re-reading to digest all the useful tomes of knowledge you laid out there. By the way, I felt that reading your book was somewhat like reading  The Da Vinci Code or Inferno (by Dan Brown), which mixes the reality and fiction in such a way that one is compelled to pursue the topic more.
I found your book moving and loving. Also I found the book becoming increasingly more interesting as it progressed.I must say it all came to a very happy and graceful ending. A too perfect ending, perhaps?

S.K.

Response:

I am also delighted but humbled at the same time by your comment, I mean, with such an accurate catch from such rough writing. It sounds as though you try to see what I want to say so much so that you are forgiving those rough and compounding areas. I thank you. As a writer, it is very heart warming when someone appreciate what you want to say.

I found it immensely enjoyable.  I was immediately comfortable with your portrayal of Jack.  I never studied, Nietzsche, or Freud very extensively, but it is evident that you did.  I may even try "Zarathustra"

I am indebted to you for one other gift.  Near the end you have Jack explain the difference between imagination and "invisible reality".  I expect to have a chance to use that soon in debates on an internet forum I frequent.

친애하는 서울의대 15회 동기 여러분,

좋은 소식 한가지 전해 드립니다.

Google 이나 Amazon  [The Last Journey of Jack Lewis] 라고 써넣어 보십시요.

A Conversation of C.S.Lewis with Friedrich Nietzsche and Sigmund Freud

Congratulation !

Job well done!! You did it again and left me with Pride and envy.

Proud that you are my friend and envious that you have done what I wish I had done.
You brought most reluctant christian to  a hard boiled, icy hearted Nietzsche (as he was publicly appreciated) and most skeptical Freud.
In the process , you educated me about them, their inner working and how they came to be. You humanized, humored and softened their heart. At least, I came to appreciate them.  At one point, Nietzsche was so engrossed in poem to tears. And you posed eternal question of humanity, " why is there so much misery in the world" and of course " why me?"

You gently worked thru uncovering of their psych, demystifying, shedding light on  psychoanalysis, whose unknowable mysticism has been an essence to flock so many, to eventual resolution.

Not withstanding of public antagonism between psychoanalysis and religion, you found commonality  in these two camps and much confluence as I understand of what you wrote. I believe Jack spoke for you when confusion of morality and legality, crime and sin, misapplication of psychoanalytic thinking in justice system prevailed of late.  You asked" isn't God the ideal model of Superego?"
I lament that I understand only a fragment of what you wrote, only to inspire me to  wonder about the meeting of Jesus, Buddha, Confucius, Laotze, presided by Socrates, with Plato taking note for posterity.

You have so much to teach me about Kierkegaard, Ring cycle of Wagner, Schopenhauer and I like to stop here because going more only depress me.
